EGR Nordic Awards 2019 Nominees
Companies involved in the gambling industry are being recognized for their dedication and effort they put throughout the year. The EGR Nordic Awards is one such event where the best companies are awarded for their work. It also strengthens the mutual respect between companies and their customers, where players are offered generous rewards, bonus deals, and interesting games.
The event for 2019 was held in Malta at the Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay on January 24, 2019. The attendees included management and employees of hundreds of companies, who could enjoy dinner, drinks, watch the ceremony, and network after the awards. The ticket prices for members were €4,275 for a table of ten while non-members had to pay €5,155 per table.
2018 Winners
Thirteen categories were contested in the EGR Nordic Awards last year, with Evolution Gaming, NetEnt, SBTech, Cherry Affiliates, Betsson Group, Spillehallen.dk, Paf, LeoVegas and Casumo, and Kindred winning in different categories. All winners were subject to strict criteria that required constant dedication, hard work and improvement over the previous year.
Categories and Nominees 2019
Thirteen categories are being contested this year, with no additional implementations. The number of nominees for each category varies. The most valuable rewards of the year are Mobile Operators, Casino Operators, and Content Suppliers.
Mobile Operator
In this category, companies with outstanding improvement dedicated to tablet and mobile real-money gambling are nominated. Traditional gambling companies with a mobile version of their software, and mobile-only firms are eligible to apply. Judges will look for the company that has provided the most overall value for the industry in terms of growth, innovation, and the product or service quality. The software should be compatible with both iOS and Android devices, while paying attention to all tablet and smartphone platforms and versions.
The primary evaluation criteria for Mobile Operator candidates are the player metrics, commercial success and growth of mobile products, functionality and overall quality of the product, differentiation and innovation, and cross-platform implementations. Seven companies are nominated this year, LeoVegas, Mr Green, Global Gaming, Genesis Global Limited, Mobilebet, Betzest and Betsson Group.
Casino Operator
The best casino operator award goes to the casino operator with the most reach and domination throughout the Nordic region. Judges look for originality of the product, brand strength, and implemented innovations that allow the company to stand out. Commercial growth and success, differentiation, and innovation, quality of the brand, product, and marketing, retention strategies and customer acquisition are key components analyzed.
The nominees for the casino operator award this year are Videoslots, PlayOJO, Mr Green, Metal Casino, Global Gaming, Fairplay Casino, ComeOn!, Betsson Group, ALEA, and the reigning champion, LeoVegas.
Casino Content Supplier
In this category, companies responsible for popular products which were trending throughout the year are nominated. The criteria looked for by judges include the performance, quality, commercial success, customer service, and innovation. Companies nominated this year are Yggdrasil, SG Digital, Red Tiger Gaming, Quickspin, Pragmatic Play, Playtech, Play’n GO, NetEnt, Microgaming and Booming Games. Evolution Gaming won this award last year.
Other Rules
Companies apply for awards via an entry form, and then a group of the biggest experts in the industry judge applications. The judges allocate scores, and an automated judging platform compiles nominee lists and winners. Judges share their opinions confidentially, and no one outside a small group of people is aware of the winners until the official announcement on January 24. Highly commended might be awarded to nominees if there are no clear winners after extensive deliberation.
